This is the Hilariously Ridiculous Story of Shane, the Wal-Mart Deli Guy

walmart-deli-guy-shane

This is the tale of Shane, a Walmart deli counter employee.

Shane also has a special, calculated knack for driving his bosses crazy during the work day. It’s a surprise he’s not fired, but he’s continuously being scolded for doing things such as offering customers extended warranties on the fried chicken and cheekily labeling certain deli products as “stoner approved.”

Shane’s story is told through a series of pictures snapped by his co-worker, Reddit user Ardentleprechaun. The documented pictures expose Walmart back-room whiteboard, where -Management has to repeatedly scold Shane through written warnings.

As with any story with minimal documentation (Ardentleprechaun’s pictures are currently floating at the top of Reddit.com), we’re going to  assume, for the sake of storytelling, that Shane is a real person, and that these notes from -Management are real as well. Shane, if you’re reading this, I hope you keep walking the line of playful customer interaction and staying employed by Walmart.

Thanks for the laughs:

Another Guy Gets Arrested For Masturbating Inside A Walmart in Tulsa, Oklahoma

Why do guys enjoy masturbating at Walmarts in Tulsa?

For the second time in recent months, police have arrested a man for pleasuring himself inside one of the retail giant’s stores in Oklahoma’s second-largest city.

Derek Bennett, 26, was nabbed Saturday afternoon after witnesses reported that he was masturbating in the middle of the East 81st Street store. Bennett, pictured at right, departed Walmart before police arrived, but was later busted when his car was pulled over by Tulsa Police Department officers.

Two witnesses “identified Bennett as the man who was masturbating in the middle of Walmart,” according to a police report. Store surveillance footage reviewed by a cop showed Bennett removing his penis from his khaki shorts and “masturbating with a back and forth motion.” In a post-arrest interview, Bennett reportedly “admitted to pulling it out in Walmart but thought he was not seen.”

Bennett was charged with two counts of indecent exposure and booked into jail, where he is being held in lieu of $10,000 bond. He is scheduled for a June 20 court appearance.

A fellow Tulsan, Brian Hounslow, was arrested in November for masturbating in the women’s bathroom at a Walmart about six miles from the store where Bennett performed his solo act.

The naked Hounslow, 37, was confronted in the bathroom by a female shopper who walked in on him. After dressing, Hounslow (seen at left) fled the store as customer Beth Davis filmed him on her iPhone. “You were naked and had your pants down around your ankles. Someone stop him. Do not let him go out that door,” Davis said as she recorded Hounslow (who, like Bennett, was charged with indecent exposure).

I Won’t Say I Hate Walmart, But I Do Hate What These Numbers Tell Me About Walmart

When the world’s third-largest employer turned 50 back in 2012, I’m sure some folks were celebrating. But my guess is there weren’t many party hats among the Walmart employees who aren’t paid enough money to get by. And judging by these numbers, that’s a lot of employees.

FACT CHECK TIME! I know the $1.5 billion figure seems gigantic, but our fact-checkers looked into this and found that it’s actually a conservative estimate. According to The Huffington Post, each Walmart store costs taxpayers $900,000. With around 4,000 Walmarts in the U.S., that’s a $3.6 billion bill for taxpayers. Forbes looked at this, too, and calculated the number to be $6.2 billion! So much for “every day low prices.”
