McDonald’s to serve romantic or family-friendly Valentine’s Day meals

Tampa, Florida– Valentine’s Day reservations are pouring in for a local restaurant, but it might come as a surprise as to which one.Two local fast food restaurants are filling up their reservations list for V-Day… McDonalds in Tampa. “We really want everybody to enjoy Valentine’s- that’s the main idea,” said a store manager at a Dale Mabry location, Ernesto Izquierdo.

He said his guest services manager came up with the idea.
“She has three children and she said it would be a sweet idea, especially for families who want to bring their kids with them on their Valentine’s Day dinner.”
He agreed and got the go-ahead from his boss with Caspers Company- that owns dozens of McDonald’s locations in the Tampa area.
“We will have a section reserved for those Valentine’s Day diners and the tables will be decorated with table cloths, and flowers and hearts everywhere. The servers will be nicely dressed and take everyone’s order.”
Another McDonald’s location off Busch Blvd is also trying the Valentine’s Day dinner for the first time.
“I can’t wait because I just bought all the decorations,” said assistant manager Taneka Cosby.
Cosby said she is putting flowers in each table along with glittery heart shapes, and champagne glasses.
“No real champagne but they are pretty glasses!” laughed Cosby.
Her location has at least five reservations already while Izquierdo’s McDonald’s has 20 reservations.
“We have more reservations than we expected already, but we will make it work and keep everyone happy and smiling, because that is what we do best,” he said. “And remember this does not have to be romantic, it could be a dad taking his daughter for Valentine’s Day Dinner, and it will be special if they share it with us,” he added.

The two locations are:

Address: 6717 N Dale Mabry Hwy Tampa, FL
Phone: (813) 876-5412
Address: 3411 E Busch Blvd, Tampa, FL 33612
Phone: (813) 988-6700

Wrong burger orders lead to shot being fired at Grand Rapids McDonald’s

GRAND RAPIDS, MI — After receiving a series of incorrect burger orders, police say a 29-year-old Grand Rapids woman became verbally abusive and fired one pistol round into a McDonald’s.
The altercation took place around 3 a.m. Monday, Feb. 10, at the McDonald’s in the 400 block of 28th Street SE, according to Lt. John Bylsma.
On Sunday evening, two women arrived at the restaurant’s drive-through window and placed an order for a burger. After discovering the order was incorrect, the women reportedly became upset and complained about the mistake. The women were told they would receive a free meal at the time of their next visit and left the establishment.
Hours later, Bylsma said the women returned to the same McDonald’s location, placed the same order, and again received an incorrectly prepared burger.
This time, the passenger began a verbal confrontation with the employee and exited the vehicle to yell and shoot one pistol round into the window of the restaurant. No one was injured as a result.
Following the shooting, the passenger reentered the vehicle and fled with the driver.
However, the women had left a phone number at the restaurant at the time of the first incorrect burger so they could be contacted about the mistake and the promised free meal. Lt. Bylsma said this aided Grand Rapids Police in locating the women and taking them into custody.
The passenger was arrested and is expected to be arraigned for two charges: carrying a concealed weapon without a permit and discharge of a loaded weapon into an occupied building. The driver was interviewed and released. Names are being withheld pending arraignment this afternoon
