Shocking footage reveals robber dousing store clerk in lighter fluid and threatening to set him on fire unless he hands over cash

A robber doused a convenience store employee in lighter fluid and threatened to set him on fire if he didn’t hand over money.

Shocking CCTV footage shows the suspect running into Kangaroo Express in Palm Bay, Florida, at 2am on Saturday with a shirt and sunglasses covering his face.

He then emptied the flammable contents of the bottle on the terrified employee and held up a lighter.

The attacker then told the victim that he would set him alight if he didn’t give him cash. The clerk complied and emptied the contents of the till into a bag from under the counter.

He handed over the money and the suspect fled. On Thursday, the robber was still on the run.

Yvonne Martinez, spokeswoman for the Palm Bay Police Department told Florida Today: ‘The suspect entered the store with his lighter fluid and threatened to set the clerk on fire.

‘He used his shirt to cover his face and had on shades.’

Police have not made any arrests in connection with the incident.
