Im Sorry!!!

Is it just me? or in the run up to Christmas, as our stores get busy, so busy you cant walk from the from the front to the back with a  stock trolley, do we as retailers always have to say sorry every  30 seconds?  The most irritating little shit of as kid knocks down the fantastic almost awe inspiring display you took 45 minutes to build in front of you.  You say sorry and accept that it may have been stacked incorrectly as he sniggers behind his mum.  You watch a customer knock a glass of cooking sauce off the shelf (you know! the red one that will stain the floor for months to come) and as you rush to catch it.  you say sorry as you barge them out of the way.  Is this just a British thing or am I speaking to the wider population???  are you as fed up of saying sorry as I am for just doing your job. Sorry seems to be said now for anything, even if sorry isn’t the most appropriate word.  Hell if it was my fault i wouldn’t mind……….

A rant!!

Why is it that in the run up to Christmas every senior manager in the company decides to come and visitor our stores? It is obviously the busiest time of the year, a time where we are expected to work long hours to maintain our stores in the most stressful fortnight of the year. So why do these senior managers expect to be walked around the store bay by bay pointing out every speck of dust, and every ticket that is slightly wonky. I mean come on! Surely they would help more if they arrived, took their jacket off and spent an hour putting stock out or tidying the store.  Of what benefit are these visits??? Please. Someone enlightening me!
